So, right about this time last year I decided that 2018 was going to be a quieter, gentler year with regards to consumerism in my life.
In the surroundings of my Kitchen and in the presence of my faithful dog Dorothy I vowed to make 2018 a year without even one personal clothing purchase.
Actually, the parameters allowed for the purchase of foot wear and undergarments but Dorothy and I both agreed that this only made sense. I mean shoes take mad skills. And underwear? Well, maybe someday.
Now here we are, readying ourselves to wrap up this year and ring in the new.
And I made it!
Although I purchased exactly zero pieces of clothing, my wardrobe stayed healthy with a few mends and makeovers along the way.
Well, this year I'm taking things a step further.
I'll be firing up my machine and learning to sew clothing.
My wool working tool box will be put to use as well. Spinning, knitting and weaving included.
I'll also be reviewing loads of Craftsy classes, books, patterns and materials that you may have wondered about, along the way.
So if you're up for some "MeMade" feel free to join me in my studio "after hours" as I work on some new life skills.
It might get a little messy but it will be fun, and it will have meaning.
