SOCK MASTERY: TOP DOWN KNITTING ADVENTURE, IN PERSON, THURSDAYS Feb 13, 20 and 27, 2025, 5:30-6:30

Unlock the secrets of sock knitting in this hands-on class, where we'll guide you through the art of crafting cozy, stylish socks from the top down.
In this workshop, you'll learn essential techniques including:
- choosing yarn and needles
- casting on with confidence
- working on 4 double pointed needles
- perfecting the heel flap
- navigating the gusset and grafting the toe
In session 1 (1 hr) you'll learn how to read a sock pattern, cast on using 4 double pointed needles, and begin knitting your sock
homework: knit the length of your sock leg from ribbing to heel turn.
In session 2 (1hr) we'll answer any questions regarding your homework and we'll learn to turn a sock heel.
Homework: knit the length of your sock foot and decreasing for toe.
In session 3 (1hr) we'll finish your sock by grafting the toe and we'll discuss alternate methods of sock construction
Skills Required
- you must be comfortable casting on, knitting, purling, and decreasing
Materials
- we ask that yarn used in class be purchased in our shop and we will happily help you to choose a good fit for your project.
- Important! Your skein of yarn needs to be wound into a ball ahead of class. Be sure to come ahead of the date to purchase your yarn and we will help you with winding. (bonus! - you'll receive a 10% discount on materials purchased for your class)
