FIRST SWEATER Saturdays January 9th, 16th and 30th, February 13th, and 27th 2027, 10am - 1pm (in person event)
This is a hybrid class/KAL series to guide a knitter through their first sweater. We will be knitting the Antler Pullover by Tin Can Knits. This sweater will also provide the opportunity to learn to read charts and to work cabled stitches.
Skills required: Knitters interested in this class must be able to cast on & bind off, work in the round (including small circumference), knit, purl, and work k2tog & p2tog decreases.
Student Brings: A copy of the pattern (see note below), 4mm & 5mm circular and double-pointed needles (see page 2 of pattern for recommended lengths of circular needles), and worsted/aran weight yarn (purchased from WoolWorks – see note below). Also a cable needle, a darning needle, scissors, and a pen/pencil for taking notes.

10am – 1pm for four sessions + 10am – 2pm for the fifth session:
January 9, 2027: pattern review, swatching, choosing a size
January 16, 2027: body
January 30, 2027: sleeves
February 13, 2027: yoke – this is where the cables happen!
February 27, 2027: neck & finishing (this is the one that is 10am – 2pm)
